Fay’s Point – Green and Open Space Infrastructure Project: This partnership with our neighbors in the City
of Blue Island will upgrade the waterfront that runs alongside the Cal-Sag river corridor. The project includes
a bike path and a rowing and boating facility that will be used by residents and serve as a practice site for competitive rowing.
Funding: $6.8M via Millennium Reserve, a State of Illinois Initiative
Veteran’s Park Restoration: This project promotes community wellness by overhauling a baseball field, providing a walking path with LED lighting, an ADA-accessible restroom and picnic and playground equipment. Funding: Almost $470K from Illinois Department of Natural Resources
